History of The True Confections Boutique

In the summer of 2011, artist Shannon Laura, began handcrafting earrings out of polymer clay for local craft shows under the name The Whimsical Sister. Her inventory expanded when she was inspired by Kathy Van Zeeland handbag charms. These charms were a unique addition to a designer purse that gave a “cute factor” to its sophistication. Inspired by these charms, Shannon created “Clutch Candy,” which included a colorful polymer clay cupcake with dangling recycled glass beads and wiring…the perfect pop of “flavor” to any purse!

Over the past two years, The Whimsical Sister expanded her jewelry line to include hairbows, cell phone accessories, and other playful items. Based in the Harrisburg area, Shannon’s creations have been featured in some of Central Pennsylvania’s local finds, such as Kid to Kid of Shippensburg and The Hummingbird Ridge Winery in York Haven.

Since her expansion, The Whimsical Sister became the True Confections Boutique , to better describe her product and purpose. With her team, Shane Jones (brother, SEO and Photographer) and Ashley Mentzer (Graphic Designer), we strive to meet the needs of the 21st century digital world and eCommerce. The True Confections Boutique is independently run by Shannon Laura and her team. We will provide you with a positive customer service experience and jewelry craftsmanship that will satisfy your appetite and help support local and small businesses. The True Confections Boutique will always consider your ideas and make you a part of sharing our truest confections with the world.

How the True Confections Boutique Get its Name?

The shift from The Whimsical Sister to The True Confections Boutique occurred when artist, Shannon Laura, decided to refocus her niche to feature delectable sweets and food items. The new name became a play on the words “true confession”, to invite the idea that indulgence should sometimes be embraced. Therefore, this became the most apropos name for what we do. Every use of the noun, confection, describes the essence of Shannon’s vision.

Confection (noun)-

1. The act or process of confecting

2. Any kind of candy or other sweet preparation

3. A product or work having a frivolous, whimsical, or contrived effect

4. A fancy, stylish article of women’s clothing
